📄 TASK MASTERS – TERMS & CONDITIONS
(Customers & General Users)

By accessing or using the Task Masters website, mobile application, or related services (the "Platform"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Platform Role (Marketplace Only)

Task Masters is a neutral online marketplace that connects customers with independent service providers.

Task Masters:

  • Does not provide services
  • Does not employ or supervise service providers
  • Does not guarantee completion, quality, accuracy, safety, or legality of services

Any service agreement exists solely between the customer and the service provider.

2. Definitions

  • Customer: Any person booking or requesting services
  • Service Provider: An independent contractor offering services
  • Service: Any task performed by a service provider
  • Platform: Task Masters website, app, and systems

3. Recommendation to Review Terms

Users are strongly advised to read these Terms in full before booking any service provider. Use of the Platform constitutes acceptance.

4. Advertising, Featured Listings & No Endorsement

Task Masters may display advertisements, featured listings, or promoted service providers.

Such placement does not constitute endorsement, certification, approval, or guarantee of:

  • Skill
  • Reliability
  • Completion
  • Safety
  • Pricing
  • Accuracy

5. Verification & Third-Party Checks (No Liability)

All background checks, criminal record checks, identity verification, and document reviews are conducted exclusively by independent third-party verification providers.

Task Masters:

  • Does not perform verification
  • Does not control verification methods or databases
  • Does not guarantee accuracy or completeness

The third party is solely responsible for verification results. Task Masters shall not be liable in court for verification errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.

6. "Verified" Badge (Limited Meaning)

A "Verified" badge indicates only that limited checks were completed at a point in time.

It does not guarantee:

  • Service quality
  • Completion
  • Ongoing monitoring
  • Licensing
  • Insurance
  • Safety

7. One-Time PIN (OTP) Identification

Task Masters may issue a one-time PIN to service providers for identification purposes.

  • Customers may enter the PIN on their device
  • A photo supplied by the service provider may be displayed

Customer Responsibility: Customers are solely responsible for confirming the provider's identity in person.

Task Masters is not liable for impersonation, identity errors, or reliance on OTPs or photos.

8. Side Deals Outside Task Masters (Total Liability Exclusion)

If a customer and service provider enter into any agreement, payment, or service outside the Platform, Task Masters is completely excluded from:

  • Legal liability
  • Payment disputes
  • Service outcomes
  • Injuries or damages
  • Data use

Such activity is at the parties' sole risk.

9. Payments, Fraud & Financial Institutions

Payments are processed by third-party payment processors.

Task Masters:

  • Does not process or store payment data
  • Is not responsible for fees, fraud, chargebacks, or failures

Users must contact their bank or financial institution for all payment issues.

10. Pricing, Taxes & Zero Commission

  • Task Masters charges 0% commission
  • Prices are set solely by service providers
  • Prices exclude applicable federal and provincial taxes
  • Any deductions are made solely by the third-party payment processor

11. Fake Listings & Reporting

Service providers are responsible for listing accuracy.

Fake or incorrect listings may be reported via the Platform.

12. Data Use, Retention & Loss

Task Masters may retain data for legal compliance, court proceedings, training, and quality purposes.

Task Masters is not liable for data loss due to:

  • Server failure
  • System crash
  • Cyber incidents
  • Force majeure

Task Masters does not intentionally leak personal information.

13. No Duty of Care / No Reliance

No action by Task Masters creates a duty of care or fiduciary obligation.

Users agree they do not rely on:

  • Verification
  • Reviews
  • Badges
  • Advertising

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, Task Masters and its team shall not be liable for any damages.

If liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum amount required by law.

15. Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Task Masters and its team from all claims arising from Platform use or side deals.

16. Arbitration & Governing Law

Disputes involving Task Masters shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Canada, except where prohibited by law.

These Terms are governed by Canadian law.

17. Quebec Carve-Out

Certain provisions may not apply to Quebec residents where prohibited by law.

📄 TASK MASTERS – SERVICE PROVIDER TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Service Provider Terms & Conditions ("Provider Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Service Provider") and Task Masters ("Task Masters", "we", "us").

By registering, listing services, or providing services through the Platform, you agree to these Provider Terms.

1. Independent Contractor Status

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are an independent contractor
  • You are not an employee, agent, partner, or representative of Task Masters
  • You have no authority to bind Task Masters in any manner
  • Nothing in these Provider Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship

2. Sole Responsibility for Services

You are solely and fully responsible for:

  • Performing services
  • Completing services
  • Quality, accuracy, and safety of services
  • Tools, equipment, and materials
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Task Masters does not supervise, direct, control, or guarantee your services.

3. Listings, Representations & Accuracy

You represent and warrant that all information you provide, including:

  • Listings
  • Descriptions
  • Photos
  • Pricing
  • Qualifications
  • Availability

is true, accurate, current, and not misleading. Providing false, altered, misleading, or fraudulent information constitutes a material breach of these Terms.

4. Fraud, Misrepresentation & Legal Consequences

Any submission of false information, fake photos, altered documents, impersonation, or misrepresentation:

  • May constitute fraud under Canadian law
  • Is grounds for immediate termination
  • May result in referral to law enforcement
  • Makes you solely liable in court

Task Masters bears no responsibility for your misrepresentations.

5. Verification & Third-Party Background Checks

You consent to background checks, identity verification, and document review conducted by independent third-party verification providers.

You acknowledge that:

  • Task Masters does not conduct verification itself
  • Verification results are not guaranteed
  • Third-party providers are solely responsible for accuracy
  • Task Masters bears no liability for verification errors, omissions, or outcomes

6. "Verified" Badge – No Guarantee

A "Verified" badge:

  • Reflects limited checks at a point in time
  • Does not guarantee trustworthiness, skill, legality, or service completion
  • Does not imply endorsement or approval

7. One-Time PIN (OTP) Identification

You may be issued a one-time PIN for identification purposes.

You acknowledge that:

  • OTPs do not guarantee identity
  • Customers are responsible for confirming identity
  • Task Masters is not liable for impersonation

8. Side Deals & Platform Circumvention

If you enter into any agreement, payment, or service outside the Platform:

  • Task Masters is fully excluded from all liability
  • You assume all legal, financial, and operational risk
  • Task Masters owes no duties to you or the customer

9. Payments, Fees & Zero Commission

  • Task Masters charges 0% commission
  • Payments are processed solely by third-party processors
  • Any fees or deductions are imposed by the payment processor
  • You must contact your bank or financial institution for payment issues

Task Masters is not liable for payment fraud, failures, or chargebacks.

10. Taxes & Regulatory Compliance

You are solely responsible for:

  • Reporting income
  • Paying taxes
  • Obtaining licenses or permits
  • Insurance coverage

Task Masters does not provide tax or legal advice.

11. Data Submission & Retention

You authorize Task Masters to retain your data for:

  • Legal compliance
  • Court proceedings
  • Quality assurance
  • Training purposes

Task Masters is not liable for data loss due to system failures.

12. Indemnification (Very Broad)

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Task Masters and its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from all claims, including:

  • Customer claims
  • Government claims
  • Tax claims
  • Injury or damage claims
  • Fraud or misrepresentation claims

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, Task Masters shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform.

14. Termination

Task Masters may suspend or terminate your account at any time, without notice or liability, for any reason.

15. Governing Law & Arbitration

These Provider Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable province.

Disputes involving Task Masters shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Canada, except where prohibited by law.

16. Quebec Carve-Out

Certain provisions may not apply to Quebec residents where prohibited by law.
